Pokemon comic by Drawing-24-7 Pokemon comic by Drawing-24-7
another idea that was funny at 2am......

i have read alot of the original manga of pokemon, it's so awesome :la:
basicly pokeballs are transperant and have nice air holes in them so the pokemon inside can be happy and see and stuff.

in the anime series: they are sealed containment devices.

While it is true that pokeballs contain Pokemon no matter what they're actually contained as energy. Remember? Any Pokemon you see being caught or returned to a pokeball turns translucent red and becomes a stream of energy beaming right to the pokeball. And if you look inside a pokeball, it's full of mirrors to bounce the energy off of and keep the Pokemon contained inside, not as matter.

Mew's expressions are priceless, very funny. I always wondered what it was like in one of those things, poor mew. Also that guy needs to find his pants first, he needs to get his priorities straight, before mew gets a nose bleed would be fine.

Also why can't mew or other psychic pokemon just teleport out of the damn things I mean its not like the pokeballs block psychokinetic energy. Seriously how do you think wobbuffet kept breaking out in the TV series, steroids? I think not.

Er...saying that PokeSpe is the "original manga" is kind of wrong. You're implying that the anime followed the manga in some way, shape or form, when clearly it didn't. Any similarities between the two are pretty much because they're both based on the games.

Actually... the PokeSpec is the original since it came before the anime. It also contained a lot of original concepts that existed in rough drafts of pokemon (such as Graveler being able to float). Unfortunately, it was not quite as child-friendly as they wanted a TV series to be (since it included things like violence, death, gene-manipulation, and even zombie pokemon), so they made an alternate world with Ash in it.

Doing a bit of digging on Google shows that the first chapter of PokeSpe came out on August 8, 1997, while the first episode of the anime aired on April 1st of the same year, meaning that the anime actually preceded the manga by several months.

Also, even if the manga did come out first, you still couldn't call it the "original." As I said, that would imply that it's the bases for the media that followed, which simply isn't the case. All Pokemon media is originally based on the games, pure and simple.

I will concede to that, but I would still call it the "original" because it was noted that Satoshi Tajiri (the creator of Pokemon) was quoted saying "This is the comic that most resembles the world I was trying to convey." Since the guy that invented the game gives his stamp of approval, I will gladly ignore the more commercialized TV series (I mean common, Ash should be at least 17 by now!)

Tajiri giving it his stamp of approval still doesn't make it the original. :P

We could argue this all year, but when it comes down to a choice between something well-made (the manga) and a piece of crap (the anime), I am willing to ignore the piece of crap as if it never existed.
That is how I feel, that is where I stand, nothing more or less (unless they make a PROPER anime version that actually HAS a decent plot).
